 So, what's a "podcast"?

♦  A podcast is a collection of audio or video files distributed over the Internet.

♦  Apple Computers created the term “podcast” by mashing together the word "broadcast” with the Apple product name “Ipod.”  Today many devices perform the same function as an Ipod.  The term "podcasting" is generally understood as an acronym of “Personal On Demand broadCASTING".

You do not need an Ipod to listen to a podcast.  If your computer makes sounds and can play music, you can listen to a podcast.

You can download podcasts to your computer or mobile digiital device (like an Ipod).

You can subscribe to the podcasting site so that when new content is posted, you get notified.
