The summer season is underway and we have a great variety 
of entertaining activities to introduce you to the arts and 
culture on the Island and the Eastern Shore. There is 
something going on every weekend in June so mark your 
calendars and join us for the following events. For more

June 7 – Chamber Music Concert 
At 2 pm on June 7, CCA presents a concert with the Attacca 
Quartet, the Silver Medal winners of the Third 
International Chesapeake Chamber Music Competition. The 
concert takes place at the Island Roxy Theater on Main 
Street, followed by a reception at the Island Manor House. 
Tickets are $20 for the concert and reception, $18 for 
concert only ($15 in advance) and $5 for students and are 
available online on the CCA web site or at Egret Moon 
Artworks, Sundial Books, Island Cottage Collection 
Psychotronic Music or H & H Pharmacy. Take advantage of 
this wonderful opportunity to hear an internationally 
acclaimed group of young musicians.  
 
Music at the Dock – June 14 at 3:00pm  
Bring a chair or blanket to Robert Reed Park and enjoy the 
free Music at the Dock concerts! Salisbury Brasswerkes will 
perform a mix of Broadway hits and light classical music at 
3 p.m. on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14. 
 
The 2nd Saturday Art Strolls takes place June 14 
The Art Stroll takes place from 6:00-10:00pm in CCA member 
galleries, studios and shops throughout the town. Pick up 
printed InfoMaps at participating shops as well as motels, 
restaurants and visitor centers or visit the CCA website 
for details. June artists include painters, basket-makers, 
bead-makers, potters, carvers, photographers, jewelers, a 
soap-maker, and local musicians. Wine, Cheese & More 
features wines from the Eastern Shore’s Chatham Winery. If 
you are interested in Island history, check out the 
Chincoteague History “Show and Tell” at the Oyster and 
Maritime Museum from 3:00 – 5:00pm and visit Jay Cherrix’s 
Renascence gallery to watch a video from 1929 and view old 
Island photos.  
 
Several new shops are holding their Grand Opening in 
conjunction with the Art Stroll. On Main Street, 
Threadgoods offers home decorations and arts while Bayside 
Arts Co-op features artists Jenny Somers, Elwye Ess, Tracy 
Arvidson, Debbie Travis and Jackie Gilfoyle. On Maddox 
Blvd, we welcome Enchanted Island Boutique to the space 
formerly occupied by Island Gallery.  
 
Robert Wise Film Festival  
The Robert Wise Film Festival continues this month with 
four films that highlight the breadth of his directorial 
expertise. On Friday, June 13, watch a double-bill of 
horror films with The Body Snatcher at 7:00 followed by The 
Haunting at 9:00. On Friday, June 20, the perennial 
favorite West Side Story will be shown at 7:00. Prior to 
the film, from 4:00 – 6:00pm, Richard Keenan will be 
signing copies of his book “The Films of Robert Wise” at 
Sundial Books, next to the Island Library. The Festival 
ends with The Day the Earth Stood Still on Friday, June 27 
at 7:00pm. The films are held in the Chincoteague Senior 
Center on Church St., complete with popcorn popped on site 
and bottles of Orange Crush to complete your movie 
experience. Tickets can be purchased online via the CCA 
website or in person at Egret Moon Artworks, Sundial Books, 
Island Cottage Collection Psychotronic Music or H & H

Chincoteague Water Heritage Festival – June 21 
CCA sponsors the first Water Heritage Festival on Saturday, 
June 21 from 10:00am – 4:00pm in Robert Reed Park. The 
event focuses on the role of water in the life and culture 
of the Island with demonstrations and displays on fishing, 
crabbing, clamming, boating, net-making, aquaculture – and 
many more. There will be special activities for children as 
well as water-themed crafts and food.
