CCA News - March 2008 Welcome to the CCA News! March is an exciting month on Chincoteague Island. We're celebrating the 100th anniversary of the incorporation of the town. There is a kick-off event at the Chincoteague Center on March 13 at 5:00pm. Earlier that day, the Island Library breaks ground for the new expansion. Watch for activities throughout the year that will commemorate this major milestone for Chincoteague Island. Water Heritage Festival For our part, CCA will sponsor a Water Heritage Festival on Saturday, June 21. It will be day to highlight all of the ways that the water has been part of the town - from fishing and boating, carving to water sports and everything in between. Watch for more details in upcoming newsletters and on the web site. CCA Acoustic Music Concert Series March also brings the first concert in the CCA Spring Acoustic Music Concert Series. Ken Bloom performs on Saturday, March 29 at 7:30 at the Senior Center. As always, the arts will be alive throughout local shops with artistic demonstrations, exhibits, musical performances and more. Participating shops will be open for activities 6:00 - 10:00pm. Get rid of your toxic trash, check out the painted trash cans, learn environmental tips for minimizing your 'footprint' and have a great time. More details next month! New Web Site As you can see, we've completely revised and updated the CCA web site. More information about all of our programs and activities, previews of upcoming events and suggestions for ways to get involved in fostering the arts and culture on the Island. You can even purchase tickets for CCA concerts and the Island Film Club movies. And you can sign up for our newsletter to get a 'heads up' on future activities and events of interest.
