This Month
Wayne George to perform at coffeehouse Headliner: Wayne George
Singer, pianist, songwriter Wayne George was first introduced to music by his boogie-woogie, piano-playin’ dad Joe. Wayne began his piano training at age 6 and by his early teens had started his first band, winning several Battle of the Band competitions in New York.  In 1974, he began writing his own songs with his band “Arc” who signed their first recording contract with Epic Records, releasing an album in 1978. After a hiatus from music to raise a family, in 1995, Wayne, his son Jonathan and his lifelong friend Edward Kosowski formed “Twist & Shout”, a band that performs their ‘Tribute to the Music of the Beatles’ to this day.  Wayne has toured and performed with top-name artists for thousands of fans over the years and recently recorded a new CD of songs written by his son. Wayne has always been influenced by the music and songs of contemporary pianist-composers like Elton John, Billy Joel and Paul McCartney. His solo performances pay tribute to their 20th century piano classics in addition to those of other popular artists.

Opening Act: Tommy Marinelli and Greg Shupe
Two popular local guitarists come together to play acoustic versions of classic rock, soul and country music from the '60s to today.
